The Shaanxi Y-8 is a commonly used support plane for China, often carrying supplies or reinforcements to the battlefield.
Heavily based on the Soviet-Russian Antonov An-12, the Shaanxi Y-8 remains in service as the PLA's standard cargo plane for the entirety of the Global War on Terror until now. Its reliability and ruggedness led to its continued service within the People's Liberation Army ranks as a cargo transport. Some planes, however, were clandestinely acquired by the GLA for their own secret purposes.
