|“|| We defend China's airspace!|
The so-called MiG was first acquired by a cunning combination of judicious military imports and industrial espionage from a former Russian research fighter almost two decades ago. The fallout from the previously classified aircraft appearing on Chinese production lines did much to prevent the further export of more modern Russian weapons to the PLA, and some analysts even mark it as a contributing factor in the lead up to the current war, but regardless, the constantly-upgraded 'MiG' soldiers on in the Chinese air forces as the backbone of their interception and strike capabilities. When it was found they could not deliver an acceptable payload of napalm via their two missiles alone, requiring large numbers to trigger the desired firestorm effects, their weapons loadout was overhauled to feature a new payload of four powerful flak missiles, and the napalm delivery duties transferred to the newly-reactivated Hellfire MiGs. This has resulted in their becoming one of the most lethal air-to-air fighters in service in the current conflict, and the shaped-charge delivery system for the flak burst is also highly effective against vehicles. Streamlined production facilities have even made them cheaper to assemble.

- MiG Fighter
Although it has lost its famous ability to cause wanton chaos and destruction on advancing tank columns, it still is a force to be reckoned with. Now China has the means to go toe-to-toe with other air forces, but not yet at the ability of the Raptor. Although it still lack modern and effective anti-missile defenses, it is partially offset by the fact that you could upgrade its armor by 25% using MiG Armor Upgrade.
Behind the scenes
- Prior to 1.87 the MiG Fighter is named Interceptor MiG (not to be confused with the old GLA jet).
