One of the most unusual yet most dangerous tools the GLA could muster, the Combat Cycle is a fearsome multi-role unit.


Among all of the vehicles available in the world, perhaps the fastest, most rugged, most useful and most nimble of them all is a motorcycle. Due to its rather diminutive nature and low cost of maintenance (and production; some rumors say that in Africa, you could trade a cow for a motorcycle) it has been favoured by the GLA, then and now. Even after nearly four decades of use, the GLA doesn't cease to amaze any commander, seeing his base being attacked from a surprising angle and being shredded to pieces by soldiers on fragile motorcycles.

Stinger Missile Attack
Jarmen Kell fires a single shot from his Stinger missile launcher at an enemy aircraft in a distance of 370, instantly destroying it. Can destroy multiple aircraft if they are in close proximity with each other. 30 seconds cooldown.

Only available with Jarmen Kell.

Suppressive Fire
Jarmen Kell fires a series of accurate shots aimed at the target enemy vehicle's vision slits which suppresses the target and other enemy vehicles in close proximity to it, disabling them while under fire. Lasts until given a new order.

Only available with Jarmen Kell.


Raid and pillage!
- Combat Cycle attacking

Fast, small and extremely agile, these souped up bikes just perfectly show the GLA's skills in improvisation.

Their insane speed allows for lightning-fast raids or to harass advancing armies and thanks to their off-roading abilities, they can traverse mountains and cliffs and come attacking enemy bases from absurd angles and catching unaware commanders by surprise. However they may take damage after driving off difficult terrain.

Combat Cycles come with a Tunnel Defender by default but their weapons can change, depending on the rider. Order a different infantrist to mount the bike and change the weapon; the previous rider dismounts and can be ordered elsewhere. This allows the motorcycle to take on different kinds of objectives depending on their commander's wishes.


Combat Cycles can cross many terrain types; use this to your advantage and attack your enemy from all angles. Their speed should also allow them to evade enemy fire but homing attacks negate this. Their speed should allow them to escape helicopters but not fixed-wing aircraft. Remember that they take damage upon landing.

You can also allow them to harass enemy heavy AA units such as the Chaparral, the Wotan or the Grumble. Just make to get out of there before the enemy counter attacks.

Their weapons reflect the nature of their rider. This means you can deal with different kinds of enemies.


Combat Cycles trade armour for speed and are extremely fragile, with even small-arms fire being enough to destroy them.

Also due to their jack-of-all-trades role, they aren't as effective as units dedicated to specific roles.

If the bikes have fled to the mountains, use helicopters or fast moving aircraft to catch them before they escape.

Since Combat Cycles become stealth in the same way that their riders do, bring stealth detection along to find any hidden bikes.


The Combat Cycle reuses their original voiceset in the vanilla Generals and Zero Hour.


  • Much like the Humvee, Combat Cycles are replaced by snowmobiles in winter environments. This is a cosmetic change and doesn't affect performance.
