Compact but humming with activity, China's air force relies on their forward Airfields for all their in-the-field readying, basing and replenishment needs. Airfields receive pre-fabricated airframes for both fixed and rotary-winged aircraft and perform a few quick measures to make them battle-ready, and are capable of housing and maintaining up to four combat jets at any one time. The jets are semi-protected in their hangars but airfields have no defences against any sort of ground assault.
